Best-Selling Games of the Year Announced
Japanese edition of Top 30 inside.

Tokyo-based market research firm MediaCreate today announced the list of best-selling games in Japan during the current calendar year. Out of the 30 most successful games, 13, i.e. almost every second title, were RPGs. Not surprisingly, Square Enix's Dragon Quest IX became the best-selling game of the year in Japan, selling more than four million copies.
