New information about Atlus' new PlayStation Portable title Tokyo Mono Harashi: Karasu no Mori Gakuen Kitan (Tokyo Demon Purifier: Mysterious Tale of the Karasu no Mori School) has surfaced. The game is developed by the team behind the PlayStation 2-based adventure title Kowloon Youma Gakuenki.

Tokyo Mono Harashi's corpus delicti is a box slightly reminiscent of Pandora's Box, in other words opening it is not a good idea. Sealed inside the box are paper cards on which the will of God is written. Legend has it that if anybody dares to open the box, all hell will break loose. Not so surprisingly, this happens as Tokyo Mono Harashi's story begins. Specifically, the cards are capable of transforming living things into demons and wipe out everyone who comes close. The game's protagonists are members of the National Diet Library's special unit tasked with retrieving the dangerous items. Posing as new students, they are dispatched to a school where a demon was reportedly spotted. There, they begin the difficult task of retrieving the cards.

In Tokyo Mono Harashi, the player will investigate various locations inside the school building. This adventure part is complemented by RPG battles set inside various 3D dungeons. Those battles are fought in first-person view. Running into one of the enemies visible on the field map will trigger a battle. Attacking foes in battle requires a certain amount of AP (action points). Other specifics of the battle system have yet to be revealed.

Tokyo Mono Harashi: Karasu no Mori Gakuen Kitan will be available in Japan in spring.
