Final Fantasy XIII Only Almost Perfect
Say Famitsuu's reviewers.
12.09.09 - 12:09 PM

Recently, Weekly Famitsuu's reviewers have seemingly become more generous in handing out perfect 40/40 scores. This year, four games including Dragon Quest IX have already been awarded the prestigious honor. Despite the usual anticipation and hype that is building up in Japan prior to next week's release of Final Fantasy XIII, the newest main series installment of Square Enix's flagship series won't join the exclusive club of "perfect" games, though. As many of its predecessors, Final Fantasy XIII had to settle for a 39/40 rating.

Roughly one week before the release of the highly anticipated game, Square Enix revealed that characters who temporarily leave the party will keep earning CP. Furthermore, players will be abe to get access to custom themes through trophies.

Final Fantasy XIII will be available in Japan exclusively for PlayStation 3 on the 17th. The stateside multiplatform release will follow on March 9th.
