First Classic Dungeon Details Surface
NIS' newest is a retro-style 2D dungeon crawler. 11.27.09 - 10:02 PM As previously reported, Nippon Ichi Software is working on a new PlayStation Portable-based action-RPG titled Classic Dungeon: Fuyoku no Masoujin. As already suggested by the title, NIS is fusing its trademark 2D visuals with dungeon crawling. To further emphasize the retro feel of the title, it will be possible to switch between standard and 8-bit sound. As one would expect from an orthodox dungeon crawler, players prepare their party in town and then head into a dungeon to take on the opposition waiting inside. Battles are said to be fast-paced and the controls very straightforward, yet your foes will be no pushovers. Classic Dungeon will feature a cast of nine playable characters. Which character will play a supporting and which a lead role is up to the player. This decision will also have a significant impact on a character's growth. Classic Dungeon will also allow for the creation of original characters. Last but not least, the game's official website is set to go online next week, on December 3rd. Classic Dungeon is set to hit Japanese retail store shelves on February 18th.
