One week ago, we reported that Square Enix was working on a revival of the vaunted Lufia (Estpolis) series. Today, the company gave away a batch of initial tidbits concerning the highly anticipated game. Fittingly titled Estpolis Denki: Yomigaeru Densetsu (Lufia: A Legend Resurrected), the new game will be a DS-based 3D action RPG. Neverland Company, the studio behind the Rune Factory games as well as Shining Force EXA, and Neo has been tasked with developing Yomigaeru Densetsu. Hajime Kojima, who previously worked on Valkyrie Profile 2 and Infinite Undiscovery, is serving as the producer.

The developers are apparently aiming for balancing act between classic features (map gimmicks and solving riddles) and new ones, e.g. a very action-oriented battle system that will allow for intra-party combination attacks.

Lufia: Yomigaeru Densetsu will be available in Japan on February 25th for 5,980 yen ($67.09 USD).
