Bandai Namco Goes After D3

Square Enix is not the only company looking to grow its business by acquiring a rival third party publisher. Bandai Namco Games has launched a take-over bid for D3 Group (the parent company D3 Publisher) of with the aim of making the publisher of budget games and love adventures a wholly-owned subsidiary. D3's board of directors and its current parent company Fields have already announced their approval of the deal.

Bandai Namco has set its sights on D3 Group, because it believes the combination of D3's casual and mobile games business and other strategic business units under the Bandai Namco group umbrella will allow for further growth.
