TGS: Delivery of Kingdom Hearts PSP Scheduled for January
Square Enix will give birth by sleep early next year in Japan. 09.27.09 - 11:47 AM Among the many games on display at Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show booth was Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, the series' debut on PlayStation Portable. As predicted by director Tetsuya Nomura during an interview last month, Square Enix announced the game's release date only after it had decided on when to ship Final Fantasy XIII. With the latter now set for a December 17th release in Japan, the company revealed at TGS that Birth by Sleep would be available in January. The new trailer shown at Square Enix's TGS booth also hints that protagonists Tera and Aqua are about to undergo an exam that, if completed successfully, would make them masters. The guest of honor is the future leader of Organization XIII, Master Xehanort. In the trailer he is seen lecturing Tera. Apparently at that time, the future bad guy is still a widely respected person. The trailer also showed off various Disney worlds including as Peter Pan's Neverland and Cinderella's world. Another scene of interest depicted a board game. Famitsu speculates that this might have been a glimpse at the game's still-mysterious growth system that Nomura had previously described as "fairly weird" and similar to a mini-game.
