During a talk session on the topic of Valkyria Chronicles 2 (Senjou no Valkyria 2 in Japan) at Sega's Tokyo Game Show booth, the developers gave away some new information concerning the sequel to last year's popular PlayStation 3 title. Development of the PlayStation Portable-based Valkyria Chronicles 2 was progressing smoothly. Despite moving to a less potent hardware, producers Shuntarou Tanaka and Shinji Motoyama stressed that customization options are going to be even greater than in the first game. The finished product will feature around 200 missions as well as a larger number of parts that can be used to customize your squadron's trusty tank.

Sega also announced that it has hired popular J-Pop duo Chemistry to perform the game's main theme, titled Our Story.

As reported by RPGFan a few days ago, Valkyria Chronicles 2 will be available in Japan on January 21st 2010. A US version will follow in the summer.
