The newest addition to the long-running Phantasy Star franchise will take place three years after the SEED incident. The development team has updated the designs of main and default characters and implemented an internet-based multiplayer mode. This mode will allow users across Japan to team up without having to rely on the adhoc party for function. Moreover, chat and lobby actions have been added. Compared to the prequel, the amount of voice acting and text has more than doubled. Sega has hired a cast of high-profile voice actors who are lending their voices to the various characters. The sequel will also feature a significantly enhanced battle system including emergency evasion, defense, charge shots. Phantasy Star Portable 2 will be available in the Land of the Rising Sun on December 3rd.
