A countdown has appeared on the official Final Fantasy XIII website. As of the writing of this story, there are two days left until the appearance of what Square Enix calls a "new vision." The Japanese website only declares two more days until "trailer open," suggesting a new trailer for the highly anticipated title should be forthcoming on Wednesday.
In further Final Fantasy XIII-related news, a fourth playable character by the name of Sazh Katzroy has been revealed. He is the first (playable) black character to appear in a Final Fantasy main series installment since Final Fantasy XIII's memorable Barrett Wallace. Sazh has a little Chocobo. In battle he wields two guns. He loves to crack jokes, but also is aware of what behavior is appropriate for a man of his age. He apparently also has his very own reasons for joining the party.
The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII will be available in Japan sometime later this year. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases of the game are set to go on sale in the US and Europe in 2010.
