You want to be the daughter of death? Go for it.

Aside from Divinity 2: Ego Draconis, DTP Entertainment was also showing off the alternate-world RPG Venetica. Developed by Deck 13, the title takes place in the late 16th century in an alternate-world Venice. The main character is named Scarlet, and she is the daughter of the grim reaper, Death, although she doesn't know it yet. A necromancer has stolen the powers of Death and has begun to take over the world. Scarlet, having her powers slowly come to the surface in the absence of her father, has to stop him.

We didn't get to spend nearly as much time with Venetica as we did with Divinity 2, so we don't have in-depth details on the game's statistics and level-up systems. We do know that the game will have a big focus on exploration through the Venetian-style architecture. The city is not a replica of the real-life Venice, although there are quite a few landmarks that will look familiar. Scarlet can also shift between the land of the living and the land of the dead and use these powers to resurrect, become invisible, and be a bad-ass like Death is.

Venetica is slated for release in October for Xbox 360 and PC.
