New Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers DetailsAs official website goes live.04.21.09 - 5:10 PM
Square Enix has opened the official website for its Wii-based RPG title Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. Crystal Bearers takes place in the technologically most advanced world in the history of the Crystal Chronicles franchise. Millennia before the game's story begins, the Yukes and the Lilties fought a bitter war. Eventually the technologically and militarily superior Lilties prevailed and the Yukes were wiped out. In present times, the conflict and magic have long been forgotten. Guns have replaced swords and the power of the Crystal is used to power industrial production.
So far, the following four characters have been revealed. Layle is the blonde-haired protagonist who was featured prominently in the original trailer movie. He is described as self-confident and reliable. His right arm has partially crystallized, allowing him to utilize the power of the crystal. People like Layle are called crystal bearers. They are feared by others, because of the powers they possess. Amidatelion is a mysterious member of the Yuke race. Members of said race are not supposed to exist in the world of Crystal Bearers anymore. Hence the appearance of Amidatelion is as much a mystery as his or her goals. Judging from the screenshots and trailer, he or she seems to be one of the main antagonists. Althea is the queen of the Lilties' kingdom. She has vowed to defend the freedom of her people and the world, even if it means sacrificing herself. Jegran is the commander of the Liltian armed forces. His loyalty belongs to his nation and the army. He will do whatever it takes to fulfill his duty towards both.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers has yet to receive an official release date.
