Bandai Namco Announces Three New Tales Games
04.01.09 - 11:58 AM

Bandai Namco Games has announced that it is working on three new additions to its ever growing Tales franchise.

The first game, Tales of Versus is a PlayStation Portable-based 3D action game, not unlike Square Enix's Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Characters from various Tales installments (including Luke and Yuri) will make appearances in this game. Up to four characters will engage in fierce battles.

Tales of Versus is currently set for a summer release in Japan.

Up next is the long-rumored PlayStation 3 debut of the franchise. Instead of an entirely new game, owners of Sony Computer Entertainment's console will have to be content with a remake of last year's Xbox 360 title Tales of Vesperia. Other than the additon of a knife and gun-wielding young female pirate, little is known about potential exclusive features of the new release.

Last but not least, there is Tales of Graces. This Wii-based installment is probably the new mothership title previously mentioned by the series masterminds. The character designs are the work of series veteran Mutsuki Inomata. Tales of Graces' protagonist is an 18-year old named Asvel. He is the oldest son of a lord ruling over a frontier region. The game's main theme will be "protecting". The developers promise a revamped battle system.

Tales of Graces will arrive on Japanese retail store shelves in winter.
