During his GDC (Game Developers Conference) keynote speech, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced the newest addition to the Zelda franchise. Titled The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, the DS-based game will be available sometime during the second half of 2009.

Little is known about the game at this point, but it has been confirmed that trains will be a primary mode of transportation in the game, hence the game's subtitle.
