Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen Content Explosion!
10.07.08 - 4:43 PM

Josh Lewis and myself have been working overtime to bring today's update to you. We know it's a bit after the game's release, but there's plenty to browse over here, I promise.

First, we have our two distinct reviews for Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen on Nintendo DS. I take the perspective of a newcomer to the series (because, sadly, I am), while Josh takes a hardline approach to the game as a remake and as a peer to other excellent DS releases in the past few years. Where do we differ? Do you agree with either of us? Read the reviews and start the discussion!

Then, if you check our soundtracks section, you'll notice something special: 13 soundtrack reviews! Five of them are specifically for Dragon Quest IV, and we've finally worked out a system to differentiate the various prints and recordings of each "Symphonic Suite." London Philharmonic gets denoted as such, whereas the Tokyo Metropolitan recordings are labeled with their Japanese, romanized subtitles (as is shown on the front cover). This should help deal with any confusion.

Then, outside of Dragon Quest IV-specific albums, we have two "best" albums, two live albums, two Brass Quintet collections, an "on Electone" CD, and a special brass-arranged album that was recorded and performed in the US over a decade ago. Good times.

Enjoy!
