White Knight Story (Shiro Kishi Monogatari), Sony Computer Entertainment's highly anticipated PlayStation 3 RPG has been confirmed to go on sale in Japan in late December. The original first party title has been development studio Level 5's biggest project to date, according to president Akihiro Hino. Hino mentioned that the game will feature a play style not found in existing RPGs. He wouldn't go into specifics, but explained that the new feature was only possible because of the PlayStation 3 hardware.

The Level 5 president also revealed that a very sad story will await those who play the game. A certain incident that happened in the past apparently continues to influence the world in which the protagonist lives. To Hino, the game feels like the first chapter of a large-scale adventure story. It would be great, if this story were to continue.

Asked about Level 5's plans for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, Hino said, he definitely wanted fans to experience White Knight Story at Japan's biggest gaming event next month. However, no decision regarding specifics had been made yet.

White Knight Story will be available in Japan on December 25th.
