Jaleco Announces Wii-based Action RPG 08.27.08 - 11:43 AM Jaleco has announced Ougon no Kizuna (The Golden Bond), a Wii-based Action RPG. The game is directed by Youichi Kawaguchi and Miwa Shouda is serving as scenario writer. While the former is also directing Marvelous Interactive's Ousama Monogatar, the latter has worked on numerous RPGs for Square Enix and Marvelous Interactive (among them SaGa Frontier, Seiken Densetsu Legend of Mana, Final Fantasy XII, Valhalla Knights 2). As its title suggests, Ougon no Kizuna's theme will be "bonds" in the middle of a conflict between humans and demons. The game's protagonist is a young man seeking revenge. As the story progresses he will not only realize his own potential, but also understand what are the really important things in his life. The story will be presented in chapters. The game's graphics style is called "pencil shading," because the visuals look as if drawn with a color pencil or text marker. The developers are implementing more than 100 quests. In battle, players will face off against very large numbers of enemies and huge bosses. After selecting an enemy by pointing at it with the Wiimote, the press of a button will trigger an attack. Players can also use combo attacks and death blows to dispose of their opposition. Ougon no Kizuna will be available in Japan sometime this fall.
