Sega Announces Garnet Chronicle for PSP 07.11.08 - 1:07 AM
Sega will be bringing Astonishia Story 2: Fate to Unhorse One under the new title Garnet Chronicle to Japan later this year. The PlayStation Portable-based game is billed as a classic RPG title with a strong story focus and a turn-based battle system. South Korean designers Ho-Yeong Kim and Dong-Suk Kim, who have previously worked on NCsoft's Lineage franchise, are responsible for the game's character designs.
Garnet Chronicle's protagonist is an ambitious young man named Kylian. The female led is a half-elf by the name of Spinel. The game's battle system may be turn-based, but it apparently also includes action-oriented elements, such as timing-based combos. Character growth will be based on skill selection. The game's theme song will be performed by prolific voice actors Hikaru Midorikawa (who has worked on Super Robot Taisen, Xenogears, and Xenosaga Ep. III in the past) and Rie Kugimiya (whose previous track record includes voice acting for Growlanser IV, Summon Night 3, the Xenosaga series, and Star Ocean: Second Evolution).
Garnet Chronicle will be available in Japan on October 23rd for 4,800 yen ($44.73 USD).
