Japanese Sales Charts Update
02.08.08 - 10:27 AM

The latest edition of the Japanese sales charts was clearly dominated by the releases of Nintendo's Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Wii and Capcom's Devil May Cry 4 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In the shadow of these two blockbuster titles, two RPGs still managed to enter this week's TOP 10. The director's cut of Tales of Destiny sold 116,928 copies to claim spot No.3 upon its debut. Meanwhile, Nippon Ichi Software's PlayStation 3 title Disgaea 3 debuted at spot 6, selling 54,596 copies.

Otherwise, only a handful of older RPGs managed to remain in the TOP 50. These include the DS remakes of Final Fantasy IV (spot 22) and Dragon Quest IV (spot 26), the PlayStation Portable version of Yggdra Union (spot 34) and Marvelous Interactive's Rune Factory 2 at spot 44.
