Wizardry, Sakimoto, Tales Soundtracks Update
12.30.07 - 11:34 PM

Before we begin, I'd like to acknowledge the following contributors for their contributions to this update. On staff, contributions came from Neal Chandran, Patrick Gann, and Dennis Rubinshteyn. Our reader contributions for this update were from Vincent T. J. Sier Chorley, Connary, and Ben Schweitzer. Many thanks to these people for all the work they've done to make this massive update a reality.

So there are three themes for today's update. First off, it's Tales. We have a whole load of opening and ending theme song singles (as well as a compilation CD called "The Best of Tales") that we know we've been neglecting up to this time. This doesn't clear them all out, but the vast majority of singles from this series are now in our collection. We also have reviews for the Tales of Destiny OST (PS2 remake version, four discs worth of upped synth!) and the OST for Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. In total, eight of our soundtracks in today's update are Tales-related. Now, let's move to the other half.

We have four Wizardry albums added to the reviews. We'd like to say that's the lot of them, but sadly, it isn't. There were a few very old, rare singles for Wizardry Gaiden IV (a Super NES title) that we were unable to obtain. If any readers have these albums, please contact us! Anyway... we have soundtracks for BUSIN ~Wizardry Alternative~, BUSIN 0 ~Wizardry Alternative NEO~, Wizardry ~Dimguil~, and Wizardry ~Prisoners of the Battles & Five Ordeals~. The last of these four soundtracks was composed by the Basiscape sound team, including Hitoshi Sakimoto. Which transitions us to our final part of the update.

Sakimoto and crew have been busy, as you will soon discover. The OST for ASH -Archaic Sealed Heat- has been reviewed, as has the other DS game Final Fantasy Tactics A2 The Sealed Grimoire. Then there are two PlayStation 2 soundtracks from Sakimoto and friends: Grim Grimoire (what's with all the Grimoires?) and Odin Sphere. Now, even as we post this update, we're sad to say that we couldn't keep up with Sakimoto either. Just one week ago, the three disc soundtrack to the DS action RPG Deltora Quest was released. Again, if any readers have picked up this soundtrack and are interested in submitting a review, please email us your submission!

Alright, that's it for 2007! See your next year, when we'll have even more soundtracks coming your way! We're nearing 1000 soundtracks reviewed, which is very exciting to us!
