Nihon Falcom, the makers of Ys and Eiyuu Densetsu (Legend of Heroes) have published the financial report detailing their fiscal year ending on September 30th earlier this week. More interesting than revenue and profit figures however, was something else buried in the 21-page report. The company revealed that it is currently not only working on Ys SEVEN and Eiyuu Densetsu VII, but also on sequels to Zwei, Vantage Master and Brandish. No release dates or target platforms were given, even though the report stated the company's intention to make a full-scale entry into the console market. An original action RPG, Zwei was released in Japan in December 2001. Currently an online version titled Zwei Online is being developed by Neon Soft of South Korea and Dimps. The original Vantage Master (VM), a strategy RPG, was released in 1997. In 1998, Falcom released a sequel, titled Vantage Master V2. Four years later, VM Japan hit Japanese retail store shelves. The Brandish series of action RPGs thus far has seen four installments since its debut in December 1990.

During its previous fiscal year, Nihon Falcom reported (unconsolidated) sales of 1.43 billion yen ($12.88 million USD) and a net profit of 271 million yen ($2.44 million USD). For the current fiscal year ending on September 2008, it projects a net profit of 290 million yen ($2.61 million USD) on sales of 1.5 billion yen ($13.51 million USD).
