Atlus announced new details regarding the upcoming sequel to its popular DS RPG Sekaiju no Meikyuu (Etrian Odyssey in the US). The new game will feature three new jobs: Doctor Magus, gunner and pet. Doctor Magus will be a useful support job, providing everything from recovery magic to attacks. The gunner is providing long ranged offense by attacking from the rear. Thanks to a wide range of different ammunitions, this job is skilled at elemental attacks. The pet possesses a deep loyalty towards the adventurer, which makes it want to protect him.

Meanwhile, the illustrations of jobs returning from the previous installment have also been altered. Furthermore, fans can look forward to improved visuals and a flashier battle system. The game's director Shigeo Komori explained that Sekaiju no Meikyuu 2 is not about bold changes, but rather enhancing the essential parts of the original game. The game's development is currently 70% complete.

Sekaiju no Meikyuu 2: Shoou no Seihai will be available in Japan sometime this winter.
