Soundtracks Update: Anime-to-RPG Part 2
05.15.07 - 5:26 AM

The percentage of Japanese anime series that make it from Japan to the US is fairly small. Smaller still are the number of games based on anime made in Japan that reach US shores. Even smaller than this ratio is the number of RPGs that make it to the US. And of course, the ratio of those games' soundtracks reaching the US is virtually zero.

One of the four games covered tonight made it to the US. That one is Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (Orphen: Scion of Sorcery in the US). The early-era PS2 RPG was nothing more or less than the mediocre expectations everyone had put on it. But what about the music? Was it any good? Find out by reading the soundtrack review.

Next up, it's Rurouni Kenshin (plus some absurdly long subtitle). The soundtrack review that we're posting today is for a PlayStation RPG based on the popular anime series. This one's not too shabby!

Working our way backwards in time, we hit Dragon Ball Z. Oh, woe is me! Must I talk about it?

Well, here's the funny thing. The soundtracks to these games are actually quite good! One review is for a Famicom game, the other Super Famicom. However, both albums are arranged, and they are arranged well! Be sure not to miss the soundtrack reviews for Dragon Ball Z Gaiden ~ The Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans and Dragon Ball Z Super Gokuuden•Assault Chapter!

More was planned for this oft-delayed update, but it will have to come another time. Enjoy these for now, folks!
