Super Robot Super Update! 01.17.07 - 2:18 AM One of Japan's best kept secrets was blown open when Atlus localized one of the games in Banpresto's long-running series. Well, actually, they localized two: the games went hand in hand, despite a discrepancy in their original releases (2002 vs. 2005). I (Patrick) went ahead and reviewed both of these games: Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation and Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2. The latter of these two has also been reviewed by reader Dennis. If you want the short version of the review, read mine. For a lengthy, detailed approach, check on his. Dennis and I also tag-teamed a swarm of Super Robot Taisen soundtracks to help demonstrate the far-reaching grasp of this series in Japan. The scary thing: this only covers about half of all soundtracks in the series, not even counting drama albums. Here's what we've reviewed in the music department: - Super Robot Taisen α Complete Sound Track Yeah. Top it all off with a gallery for Original Generation 2, and you're on your way to a well-rounded education in one of the most ridiculous subcultures Japan has ever created: giant robot fanboyism.
