Assorted RPG Info From Japan

The newest editions of Japan's leading game magazines feature several interesting tidbits on the following RPGs:

The genre of Hironobu Sakaguchi's DS-based title ASH (Archaic Sealed Heat) is apparently a mix of RPG and strategy. Furthermore, the game has already entered the final phase of its development.

Meanwhile, Sting is hard at work on a version of Baroque. Originally released for Sega Saturn and PlayStation, the RPG is now set to make an appearance on Playstation 2 later this year. Sting is promising a title that will be more than just a remake of the 32-bit original.

Last but not least, Bandai Namco Games has announced Deltora Quest, an Action RPG for the DS. This game will apparently be an adaption of the anime/manga of the same title. The game is developed by Audio, the makers of the DS title Contact. Kazushige Nojima, best known for his work on the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, is writing the scenario, while Hitoshi Sakimoto will be composing the soundtrack.

Deltora Quest will be available in Japan sometime this spring.
