"A" Soundtracks Update
11.23.06 - 1:27 AM

It's Thanksgiving, so to all you Americans, happy Turkey day and all that. (To all vegetarians, happy mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce day...).

Rarely does a week go by that our little old soundtracks section misses an update. This week, it's a small and petty offering, but we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. It might be a good read after getting good and stuffed on your favorite foods (or, for some of you, your favorite drinks!).

First up is the soundtrack for a Sega Saturn card-based RPG Arcana Strikes. The game was developed by Red, the same wonderful people that have made Sakura Taisen. This game, of course, was much less popular. The soundtrack, perhaps even more obscure than the game, is something worth looking into.

The other soundtrack is for an adventure game called Athena ~ Awakening from the ordinary life. Yeah, it's SNK's theme character in her own graphic adventure that tells the story of how she gained her psychic powers. The soundtrack is actually two discs long, and considering we are "RPGFan" and thus don't have any soundtrack reviews for The King of Fighters, it's nice to get some music from the SNK Sound Team in the mix.

Brownie points to anyone who caught the pun in the news headline.

Expect bigger and better things to come during the last few weeks of 2006!
