JoWood to Purchase DreamCatcher
11.06.06 - 3:55 PM

JoWood, one of the largest German-language publishers, has announced that they will be purchasing DreamCatcher Games, the publishers of Dungeon Lords. Most notably, DreamCatcher games owns The Adventure Company, publishers of popular adventure games such as Still Life and Syberia.

"JoWood possesses a great lineup of titles, supported by some dynamic brands, and we are thrilled about helping to further grow those brands in North America," said DreamCatcher President Richard Wah Kan. "There are some incredible synergies that are now in place that will enable us to build a very strong global company."

The move is set to increase JoWood's presence in the American market, where publishers such as Encore Entertainment and Aspyr Media have been publishing their games. Current shareholders of DreamCatcher games will own a 23 percent stake in JoWood once the acquisition is completed.

The JoWood title Gothic 3 will see release later this month, published by Aspyr Games.
