Soundtracks Update: Old Stuff
10.18.06 - 3:29 PM

Today I am posting some reviews I've written for three older, obscure albums. In my mind, there is little connecting them, save for one thing: they have all thoroughly entertained my newborn son.

"Startling Odyssey Original Album" is the soundtrack to the first of a two-part series during the heyday of PC-Engine titles. Yasushi Miyagawa has written some haunting melodies, but the majority of the songs are actually something akin to circus tunes, which infants seem to find appealing.

The next two are Technosoft Volumes 11 and 12, which comprise the entire OST for Neorude 2. Released in early 1998, these extremely hard-to-find albums feature lighthearted songs that keep the young ones bopping along to the beat.

Of course, even if these RPG soundtracks are entertaining to newborns, that does not at all mean that you (or I) will like them. Read my reviews to see what I mean.

And, of course, expect more next week!
