Capcom Announces Higher Than Expected Profit
10.12.06 - 8:02 PM

Capcom today announced an updated earnings forecast. The Osaka-based third party publisher now projects a net profit of 1.64 billion yen ($13.71 million US) on sales of 29.1 billion yen ($243.31 million US) for the first six months (April to September period) of its current fiscal year ending on March 31st 2007. Previously, Capcom had anticipated sales of 25.6 billion yen ($214.05 million US) and a net profit of 750 million yen ($6.27 million US). Capcom cited strong sales in its consumer game division, in particular of the Xbox 360 action game Dead Rising in the US and Europe, as the reason behind today's announcement.

The company however did not change its forecast for the full fiscal year, as it still expects a net profit of 3.9 billion yen ($32.61 million US) on sales of 68.4 billion yen ($571.91 million US).
