In a past update, we posted soundtrack reviews for Myst and Riven, the first two in a five-part series developed by Cyan and published by Ubisoft. This old update came with a promise that we would cover everything else, at least musically. Today, we fulfill that promise.

Reader and frequent contributor Daniel Space reviewed the music for Myst III: Exile and Myst IV: Revelation. Though the first two games had music by Robyn Miller, these two were both composed by Jack Wall. Daniel compliments Mr. Wall in both of these reviews, citing his ability to make "vague" music sound profound.

Rebecca Cheng, a pictures editor who seems to love VGM as much as I do, wrote up the soundtrack review for the last game in the series, Myst V: End of Ages. Composed by Tim Larkin, this final soundtrack offers the least in terms of quantity, but plenty to go around when it comes to quality.

Hardcore fans may ask, "wait, what about Uru?" No, we did not forget about the side game Uru: Ages Beyond Myst. Also composed by Tim Larkin, the soundtrack "uru music" has been reviewed by me, Patrick Gann. I myself prefer this soundtrack to the one Rebecca reviewed, though I'd have to say that when it comes to the games themselves, I'd switch those positions around.
