Official Jeanne d'Arc Website Goes Live 07.21.06 - 3:57 PM Sony Computer Entertainment today opened the official website for its Level 5-developed strategy RPG Jeanne d'Arc. While the PlayStation Portable-based game's story will be based on the popular story of Joan of Arc, the development team took the freedom to create an alternative version of Joan's life. Long before Joan was born into 15th century France, the evil Gods waged a long and merciless war against mankind. Five chosen heroes eventually managed to seal the powers of evil in five rings. Fast-forward to the 15th century: During the hostilities between England and France, a festival is held at the village of Domremy. During this festival the village comes under attack from monsters not seen before. At this point, the young Joan of Arc hears a voice from heaven summoning her to destroy those evil creatures. All of the sudden an accessory similar to those used by the heroes of old is attached to her right arm. Despite various attempts, she can't find a way to remove it. Following the voice from heaven, Joan calls upon her childhood friend LeAnn and the former mercenary Roge to travel to the castle of Chinon where prince Charles resides. While the website does not offer any information on the game's systems yet, visitors can at least take a look at the game by watching two trailers provided on the site. Jeanne d'Arc will be available in Japan sometime this winter.
