Fuuraiki Remake Announced for PS2
07.02.06 - 9:03 PM

Fog has opened a teaser site for Fuuraiki for PlayStation 2. Originally released for PlayStation in 2001, Fuuraiki is now being remade for Sony Computer Entertainment's current hardware platform. While the game's protagonist Tetsu Souma visited Okinawa in Fuuraiki 2, which was released in Japan on 10th November 2005, the first game takes him to Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido. In the rural northern and eastern parts of the island, Tetsu tries to find scenic spots for his reportage. The game will offer 80 different locations, where the player can take pictures and conduct interviews. Of course, Fuuraiki will also include a love story element.

Fog has improved the game's graphics to create a product said to be visually on par with last year's Fuuraiki 2. This high-resolution backgrounds are based on photographs of actual environments. The amount of voice acting has been increased fivefold, compared to the original PlayStation release. Furthermore, the development team at Fog has added a bonus scenario.

Fuuraiki for PlayStation 2 will be available in Japan on September 28th for 4,800 yen ($41.84 USD).
