Ayakashibito Announced for PS2 Release

Dimple, a new Tokyo-based company set up last November today announced its first project, Ayakashibito: Genyou Ibunroku for PlayStation 2. The game is a remake of the popular PC-based love adventure Ayakashibito which was originally released by Propeller in June 2005. The development team at Dimple is adding several exclusive features, such as a new heroine and ending sequence to the PlayStation 2 release.

Ten years after the end of World War II, beings with grotesque powers begin to appear in Japan. These creatures are loathed by the majority of humans, which has led the Japanese government to isolate them in a single city, Kamisawa. One of them, a young man by the name of Ryouichi Takebe, however, does not live in this city, but instead has been transferred to a hospital located on a solitary island. While most humans avoid contact with him, a girl called Suzu by the protagonist stays close to him. After a certain incident, however, the two escape the facility. Under false names and acting as siblings, the duo slips into Kamisawa. While the two are living are happy life for some time, a government agency and evil beings looking for a secret kept by Suzu begin to go after her. Hence begins Ryouichi's struggle to protect her.

Ayakashibito: Genyou Ibunroku for PlayStation 2 will be released in Japan on August 31st. The game's standard version will be available for 7,200 yen ($63.88 USD), while the limited first print edition will go on sale for 9,200 yen ($81.62 USD).
