E3 2006: Bandai Namco's "Unplayables"
05.11.06 - 1:27 PM

Though unavailable for play on the show floor, we noticed some impressive trailers at the Bandai Namco booth. The first was for Xenosaga Ep. III: Also Sprach Zarathustra. The trailer emphasized the point that "every saga has an ending," again confirming that this is the last game in the series. The trailer featured English voices, demonstrating that some work has already gone into localizing the title.

The second trailer shown was for Tales of the Abyss. The trailer cut back and forth between anime cutscenes and gameplay (especially battle). Like most games in the series, this one will not fail to please fans. However, we were displeased that a playable demo of the game was nowhere to be found.

Finally, we witnessed a trailer for Culdcept Saga. Apparently, this title is an RPG spin-off from the addictive videogame/card-game Culdcept. The game's trailer, again, impressed us.

None of these three titles have official release dates, but their presence at the show confirms that they are a work in progress for American fans.
