04.27.06 - 5:09 PM

Activision and Raven Studios have announced the upcoming Action-RPG Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Activision has promised more than 20 playable Marvel characters, including The Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America, Blade, and The Thing. Activision says that over 140 characters from Marvel universes will appear in one form or another.

Players will be able to interact with both a branching story due to their reputation and actions as well as the environment, being able to fight with bare knuckles or with makeshift weapons. Players will also be able to create their own team name, as well as that team's vehicle.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will allow online and offline multiplayer, similarly to Raven's previous X-Men Legends titles. It's also been revealed that Marvel Mangaverse scribe C.B. Cebulski will provide the story for Ultimate Alliance.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is slated to hit a lot of platforms this fall, specifically the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP, Game Boy Advance, and PC. No GameCube or DS release has been announced.
