The company managing the Japanese versions of Ragnorak Online, A3 and Tantra, GungHo Online Entertainment reported a consolidated net profit of 525.35 million yen ($4.45 million US) on sales of 5.67 billion yen ($48.04 million US) during its previous fiscal year which ended on December 31st 2005.

Last year GungHo acquired a majority stake in the makers of Grandia and Lunar, GameArts, and subsequently made the development studio a consolidated subsidiary. After launching three new online games, the company's portfolio currently consists of seven MMO games. GungHo also reports more than 100,000 users playing Ragnarok Online simultaneously, with the number of user IDs having exceeded one million.

Looking ahead, GungHo plans to create original online games instead of just acquiring the rights to existing products such as Ragnarok Online. The company is also looking at expanding overseas. While it has not specified its expansion plans in that regard, it aims to conduct surveys and research and continue to work with major players overseas.
