NCsoft Working on Games for Next-Gen Consoles
11.15.05 - 11:37 PM

In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz NCsoft founder and president Tack Jin Kim confirmed that his company was actively developing games for next generation consoles. This marks a major change in strategy for one of the world's largest players in the market of Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games. So far the Seoul, South Korea-based maker of Lineage has focused its resources exclusively on the PC market. While Kim did not disclose any details regarding his company's next-generation games, a source close to NCsoft's European division revealed that the target platform for said games was not Microsoft's Xbox 360.

Kim also plans to further expand NCsoft's development activities. In addition to the existing development studios in the South Korean capital of Seoul, Bellevue, Washington and Austin, Texas, the company is looking at ways to establish a new development studio in Europe.
