Monolith Soft has revealed some new details regarding its RPG sequel Baten Kaitos II: Hajimari no Tsubasa to Kamigami no Shishi. The GameCube RPG will open with quite a shocking scene. One screenshot shows the main character joining a death squad trying to assassinate the emperor of a certain kingdom. The emperor however is already dead, as the assassins arrive. This poses the question: did the hero just run into a trap?

Originally scheduled for a December release in Japan, Baten Kaitos II: Hajimari no Tsubasa to Kamigami no Shishi is now listed as "tba". The game will retail for 6,800 yen ($59.00 US).
