09.13.05 - 10:23 PM

Kadokawa Shoten today announced its newest PlayStation 2 adventure. Titled Fragments Blue, the game is being described as a romantic light mystery adventure. The game's character designer will be Hideo Horibe who previously worked on Interchannel's Interlude series, while the scenario is written by Midori Tateyama of Black/Matrix fame.

The game's protagonist is second-year senior high school student Kaname Aisaka. He used to be childish and hot-headed, but recently has matured. He is a nice guy, but somewhat shy. The first heroine is Kaname's childhood friend Momo Yazawa. The introverted girl lost her younger sister Chika two years ago. Akane Igarashi is a classmate and good friend of Momo's. Akane is extremely cheerful and open-minded, but has a loose mouth. One a summer day Kaname receives an envelope with a note and a small key inside. The sender is unknown, but it reminds the protagonist of Chika, who was supposed to have died two years ago. Upon returning to his hometown, Kaname learns that Chika's sister Mono has received an identical envelope. The note attached reads "if you collect six keys, the box of happiness that will make your wish come true will open". Together with Mono and other friends, Kaname begins his search for the sender.

Fragments Blue's story will change depending on the player's selections. The game will add all important keywords and a short description of them to a list.

Fragments Blue will be available in Japan on December 8th for 6,800 yen ($61.68 USD).
