Enterbrain Announces RPG Maker XP US Release

Enterbrain, the developers of the RPG Maker (RPG Tsukuru in Japan) series, have announced the first stateside release of a Windows-based RPG Maker. RPG Maker XP will be available on download.com on September 16, 2005.

Originally released in Japan on July 22, 2004, RPG Maker XP provides players with the ability to create full-scale console-style RPGs on their PC without previous programming experience. This announcement comes on the heels that the newest PlayStation 2 version of RPG Maker, RPG Maker 3, has gone gold and will be released on September 20, four days after the XP version. Both RPG Maker 3 and RPG Maker XP are developed by Enterbrain, although the PlayStation 2 title is being published by agetec.

RPG Maker XP has yet to be rated. RPG Maker 3 will be released with an "E10+" for "Everyone 10 and Older" rating.
