Square Enix Party 2005 Day 2 Report
07.31.05 - 9:34 PM

Just like on day one of the Square Enix Party 2005, several stage events focused on game music on Day Two of the company's event in Chiba prefecture's Makuhari Messe convention center today. Following Nobuo Uematsu's appearance yesterday, Hitoshi Sakimoto took the stage today. The main composer of Final Fantasy XII commented that he has finished working on about 70-80 songs and was currently working to adjust the event scene-related songs. Sakimoto also explained he aimed to create songs fitting the atmosphere of certain in-game locations. The most important point was creating a feeling of tension. However, Nobuo Uematsu's standard Final Fantasy songs and popular themes will also be included in the soundtrack.

After Sakimoto's explanations, four songs, including the theme of protagonist Vaan, were played. Then the voice actors and motion capture artists for Vaan (Kouhei Takeda) and his girlfriend Pannelo (Yuna Mikuni) talked about their respective roles on stage. Takeda said he felt some pressure, as this was his first major role. For Mikuni lending her voice to Pannelo is the first voice acting job.

Earlier events today had featured appearances of Code Age mastermind and character designer Yusuke Naora and a video message from actress Kou Shibasaki who is performing the main theme of the PlayStation 2 game Code Age Commanders: Tsugu Mono, Tsugareru Mono. The next event focused on Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist), with three voice actresses taking the stage before Nana Kitade performed "Kanashimi no Kiss", the main theme of the action RPG Hagane no Renkinjutsushi 3: Kami wo tsugu Shoujo as well as the anime series' first ending theme.
