Lunar Soundtracks Extravaganza!
07.18.05 - 10:34 PM

I've been promising it all summer, and even before that: the day has finally arrived my friends. Today, RPGFan completes the Lunar music discography.

(Technically, that isn't entirely true, thanks to a rare promo called the Lunar: Eternal Blue Premium CD. If there's a lucky fan out there who owns it and would like to review it for the 'Fan, consider doing so.)

(Furthermore, we can all hope that the upcoming Lunar: Dragon Song for DS will have a soundtrack release, giving us the opportunity to review even more music from the series.)

With those parenthetical asides out of the way, let's start by talking about what I did.

I reviewed three of the "2" soundtracks: Lunatic Festa 2, Magical Island 2, and Songs 2. The first is a half-drama for Lunar: Silver Star Story, the second is a half-drama for Magic School Lunar!, the third is a vocal collection for the series. All three were beautiful in their own way. I hope you take the time to read about these soundtracks and appreciate your RPG heritage.

Next, pictures editor Brendan Bronzan took a stab at another "2"...Lunar: Eternal Blue Lunatic Parade Vol.2 to be specific. Unlike the Festa series, which had four CDs, this is the end of the line for Lunatic Parades. How does the second of this two-disc collection pan out? Read Brendan's review to get a good idea.

Finally, we have a very special treat. GhaleonOne (a.k.a. Mickey Shannon), the founder of RPGFan (when it was still Lunar-Net) and now the current webmaster of lunar-net.com and creator of the official English Lunar: Dragon Song website, has written reviews of Lunatic Festas 3 and 4. G1 is the true master of all things related to this series, and his opinion is worth ten times that of mine when speaking about these fine games. Be sure to read his reviews.
