Koei has announced that their Ertain-developed Action RPG, Colosseum: Road To Freedom has gone gold and will be released on July 19.

"At the start of their training, gladiators swore an oath of obedience, where they would endure beatings with rods, burning flames, or execution by steel. This oath truly captures the spirit of the gladiator's way of life. Colosseum: Road To Freedom recreates the gladiator experience through both combat and training," said Amos Ip, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Koei Corporation. "The game faithfully recreates the fighting styles, weapons, and armor of the period and serves them up with a quick-paced 360 degree fighting system and immersive storyline."

Colosseum: Road To Freedom will be rated "M" for Mature and will feature two player gameplay. The game will be available for an MSRP of $39.99.
