Koei will bring its popular Sangokushi (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) series to the DS in form of Sangokushi DS. System-wise, the newest addition to the long-running series is based on Sangokushi III. It will support the DS' download and wireless connection features. Thereby players can engage in wireless five vs five battles. Players can also exchange the monarchs and generals they have created with their friends. If a friend chooses to import a general, this figure will appear in his game as a rival. Players can enter commands by either using the DS' touchpad or the control buttons. When certain criteria are met, the player will get to use special items which will significantly raise a general's stats. It will also be possible to divide the various social classes of subordinates.

Sangokushi DS will be released in Japan sometime this September for 4,800 yen ($44.06 US).
