Suikoden Goes Strategy RPG
06.11.05 - 1:36 AM

In an article published in Shounen JUMP magazine, Konami confirmed that it was working on a Suikoden IV gaiden titled Rhapsodia for PlayStation 2. The game will be the first strategy RPG in series history and tell the story of Kiril who seeks to locate the dangerous Rune Cannon. Kiril will be accompanied by his dad, the cheerful girl Seneca and Andark, a young, earnest man who happens to the subordinate of his father.

Since Rhapsodia will be a gaiden to Suikoden IV, it will take place in the same world and feature appearances of charaters from the fourth series installment. Among them will be the female pirate Kika who seems to be an old friend of Kiril. Since on one screenshot she is shown in battle, one can assume characters from Suikoden IV will be able to join Kiril's party. Screenshots also show up to five party members taking part in the game's strategy battles. The key to emerge victorious in these battle will be the use of combination attacks.

Rhapsodia will be available in Japan this fall.
