NCsoft is now offering the third expansion to its popular MMORPG Lineage II. Titled Chronicles 3: Rise of Darkness, this new expansion pack will feature various bonuses that allow new players to develop their character much faster in the early stages than they were able to before.

The game's player vs player system has also been updated with the new expansion. Combat points will give players an additional layer of protection when coming under attack from another player. Those points, which vary depending on a character's class, recover over time and act as a buffer which the attacker has to deplete before decreasing his target's HP.

Another addition is the so-called Seven Signs Quest. Every two weeks, players can join either The Revolutionary Army of Dusk or the Lords of Dawn and fight for control of a Seal. Control of a Seal will allow the respective faction to enter dungeons containing unique elements, receive an extra edge during castle sieges and the ability to recover rare items.

During castle sieges, players are now free to ride into battle on the backs of flying, fire breathing Wyverns. Those dragon-like creatures are the final evolution of the Striders introduced in the previous expansion pack. Not only do the Wyvern's offensive abilities come in handy during sieges, they also allow their riders to cross large distances quickly.
