Sony Online Entertainment has announced the first expansion pack and the second adventure pack for its MMORPG sequel EverQuest II. Titled Desert of Flames, the former will let players experience new areas centering around the Arabian Nights-themed city of Maj'dul, embark on new quests and encounter more than 40 new creatures. Users can also enter special new areas, where they can fight against other players or creatures.

Splitpaw Saga is the game's second adventure pack following The Bloodline Chronicles, which was released in March. This second downloadable pack will feature a series of event-based zones. They are connected by moveable planks, crates and barrels.

EverQuest II: Spitpaw Saga will be available on June 28th via digital download for $7.99 US. EverQuest II: Desert of Flames will be exhibited at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles and go on sale on September 12th for $29.99 US.

In further EverQuest II-related news, Sony Online Entertainment and Stuff Magazine will be holding a contest to find a real-life alter ego of EverQuest II poster girl Antonia Bayle. Beginning May 17th, girls who believe they resemble the Queen of Qeynos can submit their picture to the official website (see link provided below). Five finalists will be determind via an online voting. The five winners will receive a free trip to Las Vegas, where they will compete against each other in competition comparable to a pageant contest. The winner will be named at the Palms Hotel and Casino during Stuff Magazine's Casino Weekend 4.
