Two New Shining Games for Cellphones Announced 03.15.05 - 10:51 PM Sega has announced two new Shining games, titled Shining Road to the Force and Shining Force Chronicle for cellphones in Japan today. The former is an RPG, while the latter is a strategy RPG. Both titles are compatible with NTT DoCoMo's FOMA 900i/901i series of cellphones and support the 901i series models' 3D sound feature. Shining Road to the Force is an entirely new game, taking place in the world of the PlayStation 2 action RPG Shining Tears. The game takes place in the fantasy world Endias. In this world the various beastmen tribes have joined forces to create the United Kingdom of Bestia. The player will assume control of Aven, a young man destined to protect the world's order. In the game, weapons, armor and other items are all displayed in the form of cards. To clear the various dungeons, players need to team up with fellow party members in so-called formation. In those formation, all party members will move in sequence with the main character. By using link action attacks, player can deal large amounts of damage to their opponents. Shining Force Chronicle will take place in the same world as the original Shining Force. The game will once again pitch the warriors of light against a new darkness. Shining Road to the Force was released in Japan yesterday and Shining Force Chronicle will be available by April.
