Koei Releases Newest Financial Numbers

Koei has released its financial results for the first three quarters of the current fiscal year 2004/2005. During the period from April 1st to December 31st 2004, the company posted a net profit of 3.15 billion yen ($30.16 million US) on sales of 15.32 billion yen (146.70 million US). Compared to the previous fiscal year, those figures translate to increases by 2% and 12.9% respectively.

Following the release of the expansion pack Hiryou no Shou, the number of registered users playing the company's PlayStation 2 and PC-based MMORPG Nobunaga's Ambition Online has exceeded 100,000. Furthermore, sales of the PlayStation 2 strategy title Kessen III, which was released on December 22nd 2004, have exceeded 150,000 copies in Japan.

For the full fiscal year ending on March 31st, Koei projects sales of 32.5 billion yen ($311.21 million US) and a net profit of 8 billion yen ($76.61 million US).
