Konami Gamers' Day Report
01.29.05 - 2:33 AM

At its annual Gamers Day, Konami showed off its line-up of upcoming titles for the new year. While the focus of this year's event was on the company's offerings for PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS, the previously announced second PlayStation 2 installment of Castlevania, titled Castlevania: Curse of Darkness also made its debut in San Francisco. The second installment of the series exhibited at the event is Castlevania DS. The sequel to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for GameBoy Advance will be available sometime in the fall.

While both Castlevania games had been announced prior to the event, Konami also had a few new announcements to make. Lost in Blue, an original Nintendo DS-based RPG was one of these announcements. After a major sea disaster, the young protagonist awakens on a seemingly deserted island. Eventually he runs into the game's 17-year old heroine and the two must find a way to survive on the island together. Therefore, they have to master various skills ranging from hunting and searching for food to building tools. Lost in Blue will be released in August.

On the PlayStation Portable front, Konami has picked up the exclusive publishing rights to Hudson's action RPG Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory. Released in Japan yesterday, the game's North American version will be available sometime this spring.
